HONG KONG: The state-owned financial company, PT Danareksa Sekuritas, is targeting to enlarge its underwriting market of bonds this year from last years position at 16.20% amidst a price war and increasingly intense competition among securities companies.President Director of Danareksa Sekuritas Marciano Herman said the company is optimistic the market can be enlarged in line with the improving of market situation. "If the market currently volatile, I think it will improve again soon," he said, last weekend.However, Marciano did not specify how many percent the bonds underwriting market will be boosted including the underwriting market of initial public offering (IPO) as well as the brokerage activities which are more influenced by the daily trading activity.Marciano expressed such thing when attending the award event held by The Asset, Hong kong-based periodic finance business. In the event, PT Danareksa again awarded for the Best Domestic Investment Bank in Indonesia.The company has also achieved the same award last year. Danareksa Sekuritas itself is one of Danareksa subsidiary aside from PT Danareksa Investment Management, Danareksa Finance, and Danareksa Capital.Last year, Danareksa Sekuritas dominated 16.2% of bonds underwriting market valued at IDR6.45 trillion from the total bond issuance of IDR39.89 trillion, which rose by 11% when compared to the achievements in the previous year at 35.84 trillion.Referring to target of its subsidiaries, Company Secretary of Danareksa Bondan Pristiwandana said Danareksa Investment set the assets under management (AUM) at IDR15 trillion this year or increase around 41, 5% from last year at IDR10.6 trillion.
